WELCOME
We are a non-profit, family oriented club organized to promote our national pasttime. Formed in 1926, as a member of the "hot stove league," we honor baseball players and others who have contributed to this great game. As with the game of baseball, this club is for everyone: men, women and especially young fans and aspiring players. Annual membership is currently $35 for individuals and $50 for families and dinner meetings on average cost $20 for members, $30 for guests and $10 for young fans.

CURRENT NEWS
  • Monday, December 15 at the Portuguese Club in Newington; 6:00 pm - our guest will be Hall of Fame member Ferguson Jenkins. Righthander Fergie Jenkins pitched 19 years in the major leagues from 1965 to 1983 and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991 . He won 284 games in his career. He won 20 or more games seven times, including 6 years in a row from 1967 to 1972 for the Chicago Cubs. Fergie won the National League Cy Young Award in 1971, won 25 games for the 1974 Texas Rangers, and pitched 2 years for the Boston Red Sox. He amassed 3,192 lifetime strikeouts (12th all-time) and was the first pitcher ever to record more than 3000 strikeouts with less than 1000 walks.

ACCLAIM FOR THE WORLD SERIES CLUB
The Boston Red Sox congratulate the World Series Club of Hartford County on the occasion of its 70th anniversary. We recognize the Club's fine tradition of providing fans with the opportunity to meet some of baseball's prominent advocates of the game. We appreciate these efforts and wish the Club many more successful years of service to the community.
-Dick Bresciani, Vice President, Boston Red Sox

The very fabric of baseball and its year-round interest is engendered and epitomized by organizations like the World Series Club of Hartford County. It brings together people of similar interest; it leads to discussion and therefore better understanding of the game. Yet its most important role may be that it introduces young people to the game and its finer points. Where else can one find 6 and 86 year olds discussing the same subject with equal interest and passion? I can only congratulate all of you for your "first" 70 years and I look forward to many, many more of the same.
-Arnold Dean, Sportscaster, WTIC Radio

Fans like those of the World Series Club are the hope of baseball.
-Owen Canfield, Sportswriter, The Hartford Courant

The World Series Club is a place where a lot of people from all the demographic categories gather regularly to share a love of the game. These aren't talk-show crazies, but mostly adults who loved baseball when they were kids and while the game has changed, their feeling for the game remains strong.
-Tom Larson, Sportscaster, New England Sports Network (NESN)

The World Series Club keeps the hot stove league burning during the winter months for the true baseball fan.
-Roland Johnson, Regional Scouting Director, New York Mets
